WET AND WILD Round 3 KMSC Knockhill
Round 3 of the KMSC and Scottish Championship bike racing event at Knockhill delivered an unforgettable weekend of racing, with ever-changing weather and non-stop action keeping riders and spectators on their toes.
KMSC 300s: A Battle of Wills
The KMSC 300 class kicked off the day’s racing, with riders braving some of the toughest conditions of the weekend. Championship front-runners Kian Walker and Tyler Humphries continued their season-long duel, going wheel to wheel throughout the 10-lap encounters. Neither rider let the challenging weather slow them down, with both pushing to the limit in pursuit of victory. It was racing at its finest — gritty, determined, and fiercely competitive.
Formula Supersport: High-Speed Drama
Formula Supersport provided some of the weekend’s most thrilling and unpredictable moments. National talents Keo Walker and John Dickie once again led the charge, delivering frantic, high-speed action throughout. Race 2 saw a dramatic turn when Keo Walker suffered a small tip-off, forcing him out of contention and leaving John Dickie to claim a commanding win with over a 10-second advantage. Further down the field, Liam Burns, Harry Puller, and Johnny Stewart kept the excitement alive with an intense race-long scrap for position — proving once again that the mid-pack battles are just as captivating.
Scottish Lightweights: Jeffries in a League of His Own
In the Scottish Lightweights, Troy Jeffries dominated proceedings, securing victory in every race by a considerable margin. While Jeffries stormed ahead, the fight for second was a highlight of the class. Ritchie O’Neil and Lennon Docherty treated fans to some brilliant side-by-side racing, showcasing determination and skill in difficult conditions.
Pre Injection 600: A Weekend of Highs and Lows
One of the standout classes of the weekend was the Pre Injection 600. Ben McLuskey was untouchable aboard his Yamaha R6, taking a clean sweep with four wins across the meeting. It was also fantastic to see former champion Charlie Reynolds return to the podium, adding another trophy to his collection. A notable moment came when Charlie’s father made a heroic overnight dash to Inverness to collect his old championship-winning bike. Unfortunately, the fairytale ending wasn’t to be, as a highside through the chicane brought an early end to the weekend and left the machine a little worse for wear.
Scottish Superbikes: Wet and Wild Battles
The Scottish Superbike class didn’t disappoint, delivering a weekend of powerful performances despite torrential rain and multiple red flags. Lewis Patterson, Bruce Birnie, and visiting National Superstock rider Callum Grigor put on a masterclass in control and commitment. Sunday’s racing was particularly chaotic, with five separate starts due to heavy rain, but the on-track battles remained intense throughout.
CB500 Cup: Pure Racing Entertainment
Arguably the most entertaining races of the weekend came from the CB500 class. Known for their close, elbows-out racing, these riders didn’t hold back. The second race on Sunday was a particular highlight, with Troy Jeffries (running a full wet setup on a drying track) and Steven Allen swapping positions lap after lap. The pair crossed the line just 0.18 seconds apart, delivering one of the closest finishes of the season so far.
Next Up: July Showdown
It was a spectacular weekend of racing at Knockhill, filled with passion, drama, and plenty of unforgettable moments. With Round 4 scheduled for the end of July, fans won’t want to miss what promises to be another thrilling chapter in the 2025 KMSC and Scottish Championship season.
